Religion

Personally, I was born and raised in a believing family for which religious beliefs have always been part of my life; something that was imposed on me and I had no chance to decide if it was something that I really wanted to believe or not.Despite that, I do not complain because, although I have always had my doubts, I believe that there is a supernatural entity, energy or being that is superior to us.

Despite believing in that, I do not consider myself a "religious person" since although, I believe in something superior, I do not believe that this is as correct as they make it see in the churches (in which I do not believe either), nor in the religions, nor in the bible, since for me, both churches and religion are manipulated for a human and contradictory purpose; since they tell you that you must love your neighbor but reject homosexual people, they tell you that you should not kill but in the bible there were deaths in the name of God, they tell you that a woman must be a virgin (alluding to the Virgin Mary) but They do not speak of all the women who were given to men in the name of God. As in the bible, these contradict themselves a lot on issues of morality and I am fully aware that many of the acts that have been done in the name of the churches, of religion and in the name of God, are wrong and I do not share their way of thinking.

With all this said, you are surely wondering:

If you don't believe in religion or anything that this entails, why do you believe in God?

Which has a very simple answer, according to me, we all need to believe in something at the end of the day, some believe in karma, in love, in a promise, etc. I, like many other people, believe in a god, and this is because regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, we all need to believe in something to make life more enjoyable in an excuse for trying to make sense of it.

For me, things are fine with God, he is great, the only bad thing is his fandom.

  1. Hello! I think your opinion about religions is very interesting, you made me reflect a lot about my position on religions. I also believe that it is always important to believe in something or someone at the end of the day, especially in difficult moments.

  2. Hi Leonora! Your religious point of view is interesting as is your opinion of the Church made up of men. In my opinion, the Church does not represent God, rather they use it for their own benefit. They themselves have taken care of smearing his name. As you say, the bad guy here is not God but his fandom.

I like your idea that people should believe in something to find answers, because I think that can give an individual greater stability, peace and love. Sounds very hippie, I know, hahaha.
Personally, I don't have a clear belief, but I like to think we're energy. Greetings!

  3. What an interesting point of view, of presenting faith as a search for meaning. I think that our construction, not only religious but also rational, does not lead us to that. I agree that something exceeds us as individuals, and for me it's the accumulation of all our actions, in which faith plays a a fundamental role. As you mentioned, the role the Bible gave women it very interesting to study. Could it have been God? Or was it man trying to give the world that meaning/order?
